Genevieve G. Howe, age 95 of Ashtabula, died May 15, 2016 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.

Genevieve was born November 11, 1920 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Benjamin and Lilah Toomey Coursen. She attended Ashtabula High and married the love of her life Clayton Howe on October 5, 1938. She worked for 21 years at the Iten Industries in the paint dept retiring in 1973.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and also enjoyed reading and crafts. She also belonged to the Kingsville Public Library Book Club, the Ashtabula Library book Club, St. Elizabeth’s Women’s Chapter, ECW.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clayton Howe, Brothers Darl Coursen, Raymond Coursen, Jack Coursen, Maynard Coursen, sisters Bonnie Lane, Blanche Tietz and Ina Christensen

Genevieve is survived by her children sons David and Bonnie Howe of Ashtabula, Robert and Mary Howe of Ashtabula, Theodore and Darlene of Lantana, Fl., a daughter Cynthea M. and Claude Hawn of Kingsville. Also 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Friday, May 20, 2016 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in the Guild room from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 noon.

Funeral services will be Friday, 12 Noon at St. Peters Episcopal Church with Fr. Peter W. Nielsen, III officiating. Inurnment will follow at the church and a time of fellowship from 1-3 by the Ladies Guild at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund or the Kingsville Public Library.
