Jay C. Bauwin, age 62, of Webster Rd., Lenox Twp., died Monday, August 17, 2015 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.  He was born on August 7, 1953 in Ashtabula, the son of Charles & Virginia (Cadmes) Daniels.

Jay has been a lifelong resident of Ashtabula County.  He is a graduate of Jefferson Area  High School.  He was a self-employed handy man and has been known by Jefferson area school kids as “Mr. B” for the past 15 years as he drove school bus.  He owned and operated Jefferson Pro Hardware from 1977-2000.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trap shooting and involvement in local gun clubs.  He has been a proud member and elder of Lenox Christian Fellowship Church since 1990.  He was passionate about children and active in the church VBS program that he willingly participated in every year.  He was involved with tiger, cub, and boy scouts and in earlier years participated as a little league coach. 

He is survived by his mother, Virginia Bauwin of Newark OH; loving wife, Linda M. (Calvert) Bauwin, whom he married March 15, 1975 at the First Baptist Church in Jefferson; son, Jason L. Bauwin of Mayfield Hts.; sisters, Pamela Simmons and Tina Daniels.; brothers, James Bauwin, Todd Bauwin and Rex Daniels.

He is preceded in death by his father Charles Daniels, adopted father James Bauwin and a dear aunt Dorothy Cadmes.

A Memorial Service is going to be held Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11:00 A. M. at the First Baptist Church,  85 West Jefferson St., Jefferson with Pastor Rick Havens of Lenox Christian Fellowship Church officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 West Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio and also on Friday, August 21, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 A. M. at the First Baptist Church prior to the service.  The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that all memorial contributions please be made to the Lenox Christian Fellowship Church, 2610 Lenox New Lyme Rd., Jefferson, Ohio 44047 or Camp Stigwandish, 7497 Ross Rd., Madison, Ohio 44057  envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.  The Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory  are honored to serve the Jay C.
