Noble L. Smith, age 91, lifetime dairy farmer on Maple Rd. in Sheffield Twp., died Friday evening at the Austinburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center with family by his side.
He was born on the family farm in Sheffield Twp. on May 12, 1925, the son of Roy L. & Lena R. (Smith) Smith and lived in the same farm house all of his life. Noble owned and operated the Smith Dairy Farm and hauled canned milk for many years. He retired in 1991.
Mr. Smith was a 79 year member of the First Baptist Church in Jefferson. His interests was making canes, working hard and was very artistic, both drawing and with clay. A special part of his life was his nieces and nephews.
His survivors include two brothers and two sisters, C. Lee Smith, Arthur G. (Barbara) Smith, Ruth A. Tanner & L. Grace (John) Oeffner, all of Jefferson and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Smith.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of the Western Reserve and the Austinburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for there care and attention they provided to Mr. Smith.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A. M. at the First Baptist Church, 85 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Pastor Rick Havens of the Lenox Christian Fellowship Church officiating. Burial will be in Gageville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church Wednesday from 10-11 AM. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Baptist Church, envelopes will be available or mailed to the above address.
