Welcome to the memorial page for

Virginia Rose (Pizon) Hansen

June 9, 1931 ~ December 3, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Mrs. Virginia Rose Hansen went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December the 3rd, 2017 at the Pioneer Place Assisted Living Center in Vale, OR at the age of 86.

She was born on June 29th, 1931 in Cleveland Ohio. She was a member of the Oregon Trail Baptist Church in Vale, Oregon. Virginia loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and served the Lord faithfully from the time she became a Christian in 1981.    At times she became quite persistent in sharing the faith that she had found in Christ, and her blunt and bold ways sometimes caused others to misunderstand the love she had for them. The words of the apostle Paul come to mind: “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” Galatians 4:16. She also had a deep abiding love for her family and she will be truly missed. Virginia loved cooking, baking, and fishing. Being of Polish descent, the family was often treated to some fine Polish dishes. Dishes such as Gołąbki (Stuffed Cabbage), Kiełbasa Biała (Polish Sausage), pierogi, Flaki or Flaczki (Tripe soup), Kaszanka (or kiszka) (Blood Sausage) and even czarnina (I won’t tell you what that is!) were enjoyed at dinner time by friends and family. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Elenore (Sciba) Pizon, Cleveland, Ohio. Virginia married Donald Carl Hansen on December 9th, 1950. She buried her husband of almost fifty years in 2000.

Brothers Henry Narcisus, John, Joe and Virginia’s sister’s Emily, Martha, Delores, and Jane have all gone to stand before the Judge of all earth.

Surviving relatives are as follows:  One sister, Carol Talani, two sons David C. Hansen, Darrell R. Hansen, and daughter Joyce M. Cornel. Grandchildren are as follows; Timothy Hansen, Apryl Lammers, Stephen Hansen, Philip Hansen, Peter Hansen, Paul Hansen, Amber Hansen, Autumn Tran, Karl Hansen, Christopher Hansen, Rachel Hansen, and Kirsten Swanson. There are numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Although we will miss “Old Grandma” terribly, God was waiting for her.

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15 As Christians, we can deal with this loss a lot differently than those who do not know Christ and are without hope. We know that there will be a glad reunion some day.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 P. M. Friday, 12/15/17, at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson.  Visitation will be from 11-12 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Dorset Cemetery.
