Arthur Hazeltine Obituary

Arthur Charles Hazeltine, age 88, former Saybrook Twp. resident and currently living at the Country Club Retirement Center, died Thursday afternoon at the Ashtabula Co. Medical Center.

He was born April 2, 1931 in Ashtabula, the son of Archie & Edith (Strong) Hazeltine and has been an Ashtabula resident all of his life.  Mr. Hazeltine was a U. S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.  He was married to Helen Dioneff on November 20, 1955 in Ashtabula.

Mr. Hazeltine retired from Ashtabula Bow Socket and drove for D & T Limousine in Cleveland for 15 years.  His greatest enjoyment was his family.  He also supported the American Legion, enjoyed NASCAR, football, baseball, wrestling and old cars.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, two children, Deborah (Charlie Notarianni) Hazeltine & Richard “Rick” (Deniece) Hazeltine, both of Ashtabula; four granddaughters; six great-grandchildren and two sisters, Dorothy Tobias & Mary Sandella, both of Ashtabula.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard, Robert & James Hazeltine and a sister, Ruth Beckman.

Private visitation will be 10-11AM with services at 11AM Monday at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula with Alisa Nierzejewski, certified celebrant leading the service. Burial will be in Saybrook Cemetery where American Legion Post #103 will render military honors.
