Elsie Madalene (Price) March

Elsie M. March, age 98, 70-year resident of Jefferson, died Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Silver Oak Manor in Livermore, CA.

She was born January 26, 1920 at Griggs Corner, the daughter of Richard & Mamie Price and lived in the Jefferson area all of her life before retiring to Tucson, AZ with her late husband, Anson in 1992.  Mrs. March relocated to Livermore in 2011 to be near family.

She was married to Anson L. March on September 11, 1937.  Mrs. March was a farmer’s wife and worked many years at the General Electric Welds Plant in Jefferson.  Elsie was a former member of the First Baptist Church.  She did needlepoint, made Christmas ornaments and made delicious homemade pies.  Her grandchildren loved her swiss steak dinners.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia A. (James W.) Fischer of Livermore; CA, a daughter-in-law, Charlene (Clair) March Woodburn of Ashtabula; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Anson in 1994; sons, James R. March in 1978 & Kenneth H. March in 1994; granddaughters, Karen March in 1957 & Connie Wessell in 2018; a great-granddaughter, Ashley March in 1990; a daughter-in-law, Barbara March in 2014 and brothers, Clyde H. Price in 2018 & Chester C. Price in 2018.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:00 A. M. in Oakdale Cemetery with Pastor Rick Havens officiating.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Baptist Church, 85 W.
