Grace Elaine Elliott

Grace E. Elliott, age 78, former Jefferson resident, died late Monday evening in the Hospice Unit at the Ashtabula Co. Medical Center.

She was born February 24, 1941 in Cherry Valley Twp., the daughter of Joseph & Betty (Hayes) Elliott and has resided in this area all of her life.  Grace was at the Glastic Corp. more than 17 years.

In earlier years, she was a high school majorette and competed in beauty pageants.  She enjoyed gambling, gardening, collecting antiques and glass and loved her cats.

Survivors include four children, Vickie (Phillip) Johnson & Dana Knight, both of Jefferson, James (Shonda Nichols) Wilks of DeCatur, AL & Edward (Debbie) Wilks of Jefferson; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and four siblings, Shirley Patterson Rome Twp., Margie (Lester) Carr of Warren, Joe (Barb) Elliott of Geneva & Butch (Patty) Elliott of Rock Creek.  Her parents and a sister, Margaret Joyce Elliott in infancy preceded her in death.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 36 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson with the Rev. Fr. John Ettinger officiating.
