Herb K. Trask, 80 of Geneva died Thursday (August 1st) at the Madison Health Care in Madison, Ohio. He was born February 27, 1939 in Huntsburg, Ohio the son of Halbert T. and Luella (Hammon) Trask.
He was a 1958 graduate of Jefferson High School. He worked for over 40 years at R. W. Sidleys as a truck driver. Herb was a proud member of Teamsters Local 436 since 1958.
He enjoyed fishing, sports both Cleveland teams and The Ohio State Buckeyes. When his son was young he coached Little League baseball and midget League football.
Surviving him are his son, Rodney (Melissa) Trask of Mentor; a daughter, Stacy L. Spangler of Parma, Ohio; four grandchildren, Tasha Trask, Mitchell Trask, Kelsey Trask and Rachel(Tyler) Ray and a great grandson, Johnny Ray; two brothers, David Trask of Saybrook and William “Bill” (Elaine) Trask of Burton and two sisters. Elsie Miller of Florida and Gertrude of California. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sandra in 2013; three brothers, Raymond, Junior and Donald and by four sisters, Lavona, Ruth, Marilyn and Grace.
Funeral service will be Saturday (August 10th) at 11:00 am at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Rev. Kenneth Roberts of the Pentecostal Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva, Ohio.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
