Bernice Marie (Orr) Jacobs

Bernice M. Jacobs, age 91 of Denmark Twp., died early Tuesday morning at her residence.

She was born April 11, 1930 in Swellsville, OH, the daughter of Leslie & Lydia (Francis) Orr and has been an area resident most of her life.  Mrs. Jacobs worked at the True Temper Corp. for 15 years before it’s closing, then at the Gazette Newspapers for 10 years.

Her interests included collecting salt and pepper shakers and windchimes, cooking and flower gardening.

Survivors include five children; William “Bill” (Margaret) Jacobs of Jefferson, Stanley (Sharon) Jacobs of Linesville, PA, Elsie Laskin of Jefferson, Donald (Debbie) Jacobs of Cuyahoga Falls & John (Mark) Lackey of Greer, SC, nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three siblings, Freda Clark & Edgar (Judy) Orr, both in West Virginia and Ralph Orr of Flushing, OH.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; William B. Jacobs in 2010, a daughter; Wilma Williams, sisters; Mary, Helen, Shirley & Martha and brothers, Harvey, Dempsie, Clem & Leslie.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00AM at Eagleville Bible Church, 1981 St. Rt. 45 North, Rock Creek with Pastor Bill McMinn officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
