Betty Keep Parker Obituary

Betty Keep Parker, 92, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2023, at The Legacy Assisted Living of Farmdale.

She was born on June 5, 1930, in Linesville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Roy A. and Ruth H. (Rick) Brown.

On November 23, 1950 Betty married John A. Keep; they were blessed with 4 children and 26 years of marriage and memories until his passing on February 21, 1977.  On May 12, 1990, Betty married John P. Parker, they shared thirty-one years of wonderful marriage and were blessed to grow old together before his passing on December 8, 2021. She always felt so fortunate to have had two great husbands.

Throughout her marriage to John A. Keep Betty was actively involved in the management of the family's Keepholm Farm in Dorset. Following her first husband's passing she worked at the Ben Franklin store in Jefferson for many years. Betty was also an active member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church in Jefferson, Ohio. She was a 4-H Advisor who led the Dorset Golden Thimbles. She always enjoyed spending time with the youth in her community and planning 4-H Club events.  She enjoyed baking cookies and pies, canning and freezing foods, bowling, tending to her roses in her flower beds and attending and hosting family gatherings.  Her children and grandchildren were her world; and her loving and devoted husbands both helped complete the wonderful life she always thanked God for giving her.

She is survived by her loving family; her children: David (Diane) Keep, Daniel (Pamela) Keep, Teresa Wludyga and Dale (Diane) Keep; her stepdaughters: Jill (Kevin) Carter, and Joy (Freddie Weisberg) Parker; 11 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Janice Dick and Roger Brown; and many beloved extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, John A. Keep in 1977; and her second husband John P. Parker in 2021; her son-in-law Stephen Wludyga; her brothers: Ronald Brown, James Brown and Roy Brown; and her sister Beverly Holden.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 11:00a-12:00p with a Funeral Service to immediately follow at 12:00p at the Jefferson United Methodist Church, 125 East Jefferson Street.
