Carolyn Mullen Obituary

Carolyn Mullen, 69, passed away on May 22, 2023, in Canton Mercy Hospital following a courageous battle with brain cancer.

She was born on November 22, 1953, the daughter of William and Margaret (Pfifer) Lenart.

Carolyn graduated from Jefferson High School in 1971 and went on to work for Key Bank, Midland Title and finally retired from The Law Office of Jane Timonere.

Carolyn married Dick Mullen on April 25, 1987; they shared 35 years of friendship, happiness and love while blending two families together to become one.

She loved animals, especially her cats; she enjoyed shopping, gardening, and decorating her home; a home that she always had a great deal of pride in keeping immaculately clean.  She was a proud and loving wife, mom, and grandma.  Her family was her life.

She is survived by her beloved children: her son Matt (Fabiola) Cole; Dick’s children that she loved like her own, Janet (Mark) Szekely, Lori (Jeff) Zebrasky, Becky (Ed) Paneto, Todd Mullen, Tami Mullen-Stone, and Tricia (Billy) Hoplight; her fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, that she absolutely adored; her sister Cheryl (Don) Childs; her brother-in-law Frank Mracek; and her cat Skeeter.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick Mullen; her sister Karen Mracek, and her stepdaughter, Vickie Mullen in 1988.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 26th, 2023, from 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m., with funeral services starting at 12:00p at Fleming and Billman Funeral Home, 49 W. Jefferson Street in Jefferson, Ohio.  A burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

Carolyn found strength during her battle with cancer listening to the stories of those who were able to win their own battle; she urges everyone to be brave and fight as hard as you can. She’s thankful for all those people along the way who helped her; the doctors, the nurses, her friends and her family.
