Christine M. Kettunen, 63 of Saybrook Township died Monday (September 6th) at University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center. She was born October 5, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of Emerson and M. Ruth (Scholtz) Thompson and has been a lifetime area resident.
She graduated from Edgewood High School and attended Kent State University, Capital University and received her PHD in public health management from Cleveland State University.
She is a member of Edgewood Church of the Nazarene where she loved to teach Sunday school. She was also belonged to state and local public health and nursing organization.
She was a licensed pilot and most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving her is her husband, Alan Kettunen whom she married June 8, 2005; four children, James Tredway, Michelle (Rich) Vanek, Michael (Amber) Tredway and Jonathan Kettunen; four grandchildren, Katelyn, Jessie, Taylor and Brendon; a sister Marti Tredway and a brother, Dale (Tina) Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held Friday (Sept. 10th) at 6:00 pm at the Edgewood Church of the Nazarene, 3025 North Ridge East, Ashtabula, Ohio with Pastor Kevin Ellis officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 pm until the time of service at the church.
