Ethan Martin Obituary

Ethan J. Martin, age 27, Jefferson, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at his home.

He was born March 30, 1993 in Ashtabula, the son of Bob & Millie (Taggart) Martin and has lived in the Jefferson and Rock Creek area all of his life.  Ethan was a 2011 graduate of Jefferson Area High School and the Ashtabula Co. Joint Vocational School.  He has worked at Pressrite Corp. in Jefferson the past 3-1/2 years.

Growing up, Ethan worked alongside his father and grandfather at the family feed mill.  He thoroughly enjoyed going to Mickey’s with Grandpa to have a cheeseburger and root beer for lunch.  He was a huge fan of chevy trucks, so much that he got a tattoo of the iconic chevy bowtie emblem on his arm.  He was a history buff, enjoying most history on the wars.  Other activities he enjoyed was kayaking, deer hunting, snowmobiling and riding 4-wheelers.   Ethan did not like to show or admit it, but he had a big heart and would do anything for his friends and family.

Survivors include his parents, Bob & Millie Martin of Rock Creek; a brother, Ryan Martin of South Riding, VA; aunts and uncles, Lori & Steve Courtney of Columbus, Steve & Carol Martin of Front Royal, VA, Harry Taggart of Jamestown, PA and Roger & Jack Taggart, both of Pierpont Twp.; several cousins and a special group of friends, Courtney Stowe, Kaelynn Hall, Nelson & Shayla Terry, Ray Nicholson, Zack LaRosa, Chris & Hailey Powers, Kirby Stainfield & Scott Lott.

His grandparents, Harry & Velva Taggart and Harold & Betty Martin preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 11:00AM in Morgan Union Cemetery, Rock Creek with Pastor Adam Page, associate at Eagleville Bible Church officiating.  Visitation will be held Sunday from 3-5PM at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson.  No formal attire, Ethan would want everyone to dress casually.  Social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are required.  The Fleming & Billman Funeral Homes and staff are privileged to serve the Ethan Martin family.  View obituary, express condolences, light a candle or send a flower at fleming-billman.com.
