Florence Mildred Viers

Florence Mildred Viers, age 90, died September 18, 2023.

She was born January 28, 1933 in Andover, OH, to Walter H. Goodge and Ethel Mildred Eastlake Goodge.  

On November 16, 1951 she married the love of her life, Robert E. Viers, in Marlinton, West Virginia.

Florence was a homemaker and a school bus driver for 27 years. She drove for both Buckeye Local Schools and Happy Hearts. Florence was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ashtabula for the last 70 years and had served as deaconess for many years.

She is survived by her son, Dennis (Ruth) Viers of Avon, OH, a daughter Nila Brass of Ashtabula; four grandchildren: Melissa, Robert, Delylah and Katherine; ten great grandchildren: Sofia, Liam, Elliott, Gavin, Aubrey, Austin, Ameina, Jonathon, and Elijah.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Grant H. Goodge and sister Arlene Goodge Britton, daughter, Cynthia Kubitz, daughter in law, Pamela Viers, and her loving husband of 64 years, Robert E. Viers.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, September 23 from 10:00-12:00 with funeral service to follow at noon at the Ashtabula First Baptist Church 4353 Park Ave. Ashtabula with Pastor Joseph Woods officiating. Everyone is welcome to attend a luncheon immediately following the service at 1:00. Burial will be in Hayes Cemetery in Wayne Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Ashtabula First Baptist Church.
