Gwendolyn Beverly Headley, 87, passed away in the comfort of her own home on Saturday, March 11, 2023. She lived a blessed life but was ready to be reunited with her husband, together again in Heaven.
She was born in Austinburg Township on December 29, 1935, the daughter of Roscoe and Ruth (Snable) Burlingame.
Gwendolyn was a 1953 graduate of Austinburg High School. She worked as a telephone operator for 12 years for the Eastern Telephone Company in Jefferson Ohio.
On August 23, 1957, she married Gerald L. Headley. He made her the happiest wife, mother and grandmother that a bride could ever ask for; they were blessed with 43 years of love, children, grandchildren and memories; until his passing on August 29, 2000.
Her faith was a very important part of her life; she was a devoted member of the Amboy United Methodist Church. She enjoyed many things in life; her flower gardens, hummingbirds, hot air balloons and her Holly Hobbie collection. Above all she was the person that her children and their family’s lives revolved around; their love was all she needed in life to be happy. She will be so very dearly missed.
She is survived by her children: Barbara Henry, Garry (Brenda) Headley, Ricky (Roy) Campbell and Gregory (Sharon) Headley; her daughter-in-law, Di Headley, 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gerald; her son Gerald in 2007, and her siblings: Gladys Hill, Donald Burlingame, Dorothy Stillman Main, and Howard Burlingame.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00 at Fleming-Billman Funeral Home, 49 W. Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 at the funeral home in Jefferson with burial to follow in Eagleville Cemetery.
