James H. Herman, age 62, Lenox Twp., died unexpectedly early Friday morning at his residence.
He was born October 6, 1957 in Geneva, the son of the late Elmer E. & Margaret E. (Takacs) Herman and has been an area resident all of his life. Jim spent his working career in auto restoration.
He was a avid NASCAR fan, loved hanging out in his garage, enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach.
Survivors include his companion of more than 20 years, Barbara B. Saltz; three children, James R. “Jim” Herman of Chardon, Michelle K. (Adam Bishop) Herman of Huron & Jennifer M. (Chad) McMillin of Middlefield; five grandchildren, Seth & Julian Kuglin, Alexis & Trinton Herman and Alanah Bolster; a brother, Elmer E. (Rosemary) Herman of Jefferson and a sister, Darla J. (Richard) Ales of Solon.
