James Woodworth Obituary

James A. Woodworth, 89 of Geneva died Friday (April 23rd) at the University Hospital Geneva Medical Center. He was born December 4, 1931 in Geneva the son of Arthur and Mabel (Billman) Woodworth and has been a lifetime area resident.

He was a graduate of Spencer High School and served in the US Navy during the 1950’s,

Jim owned and operated Woodworth Fruit Farm in Geneva for many years and had also worked at Mike’s Farm Market in Ashtabula for ten years.

Jim enjoyed playing softball and had played for North Center Tavern. He also enjoyed bowling and the Cleveland sport teams. He also helped coach his sons in baseball and basketball when they were young.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving him is his wife, Patricia (Graper) Woodworth whom he married  January 20, 1962; three sons, Mark (Kim) Woodworth of Osprey, Florida, Brad (Denise) Woodworth of Raleigh, North Carolina and Randy Woodworth of Geneva. Seven grandchildren, Meredith, Rusty, Chase, Ryley, Kerstain, Callie and Kalub and seven great grandchildren, McCoy, Lola, Hailey, Colt, Coven, Tripp and Evee. Also survived by two brothers-in law, Alan (Linda) Graper of Concord and David (Sharon) Graper of Painesville; a niece, Andrea and two nephews, Taz and John.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dorothy Carraher in 2015.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be announced. The Geneva Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 323 South Broadway, Geneva, Ohio is honored to serve the James Woodworth family.
