Jefferson-Joel Weaver, 72, passed away unexpectedly at home on May 7, 2026.
Born on August 16, 1953, in Ashtabula, he was the son of Jesse and Josephine (Karch) Weaver. A 1972 graduate of Ashtabula High School, Joel built a life defined by hard work, reliability, and quiet determination. He spent many years working for Smurfit Stone, where he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to providing for his family.
On January 9, 1975, Joel married Eunise Beans in Anchorage, Alaska. Together, they shared 51 years of marriage rooted in love, loyalty, and partnership. Joel was a devoted husband, a steady presence, and a man who took great pride in caring for those he loved.
Family was the center of Joel’s life. He found his greatest joy in being a father and grandfather, always showing up with support, guidance, and a deep sense of responsibility. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled—hard work, perseverance, and dedication to family.
In his quieter moments, Joel found peace in the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he spent many evenings looking through his telescope, taking in the beauty of the night sky and its constellations.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eunise; his son, Josh; and his cherished grandchildren: Andrew Weaver, Vivian Weaver, Olivia Weaver, Joel Brown, Brooke Edenshaw, and Svea Edenshaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Josephine Ann Weaver, who passed away April 22, 2026, in Hawaii; and his brothers, Jesse and Lou Weaver.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at Fleming-Billman Funeral Home, 49 West Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio. Calling hours will take place from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 4:00 p.m.
