JEFFERSON-Laura K. (Parsons) Rodgers, 69, passed away unexpectedly at home on September 2, 2021.

She was born in Ashtabula on September 23, 1951 the daughter of John and Kathleen (Harmon) Parsons.

She was a graduate of Jefferson High Schools Class of 1970.  On August 12, 1971 she married Glenn E. Rodgers; her loving husband of 45 years.  She worked for 30 years at UH-Geneva Memorial Hospital in the cardiology department until her retirement in 2018.  She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church in Jefferson and a member of the Jefferson Eagles Club.

Laura enjoyed gardening and reading.  Family was always very important to her; she was born one of 12 children in her family.  For her, becoming a mother was the greatest thing ever; until she became a grandma.  Her world then revolved around that little man and the joy he brought to her life was immeasurable.

She is survived by her daughter Roena (Fred Hilger) Rodgers, who was also her best friend; her grandson Owen Hilger; her siblings: Marilyn Campbell, Eileen (Tom) Gildersleeve, John (Becky) Parsons, Patrick (Robin Cottrell) Parsons, Joel (Bonnie) Parsons, Nicholas (Robin) Parsons, and Stephen (Sandy) Parsons; her brother-in-law David Gecking; her former daughter-in-law Tracy (John) Turner; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Glenn E. Rodgers in 2017; her son Glenn E. Rodgers III in 2011, whom she has missed so very dearly every day since his passing in 2011; her brothers: Jim, Dan, and Chuck Parsons; her sister Anne Gecking; and her brother-in-law Clarence “Bucky” Campbell.

Services will be held Monday September 6, 2021 at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson Street; calling hours 10:00-11:00 and the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00.  A memorial luncheon will be held at the Jefferson Eagles following the services.
