Maxine King, 94, passed away on September 20, 2023, at the Geneva Center for Rehabilitation in Geneva, Ohio.
She was born on June 25, 1929, in Geneva, Ohio, the daughter of Lawrence and Waitee (Schroeder) Eller.
Maxine graduated from Spencer High School in 1948. Over the years, Hilda held several different positions; she was a Secretary at Geneva Memorial Hospital, she worked for Dr. Thomas Williams for thirteen years, she worked at King Printing in Geneva for sixteen years and was a cashier at Circle K and Dairy Mart.
She was a Deaconess at the United Church of Geneva, she was a member of the VFW Ladie’s Auxiliary and a member of the Ashtabula Bowling Association.
Maxine enjoyed: crossword puzzles, couples bowling, watching the Cleveland Indians play baseball, going to high school football games and listening to the marching bands. Her greatest source of joy and happiness was being a grandmother to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren all of whom she adored.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Diana Hemmi; her grandchildren: Billie Birch, Dawn (Brian) Abbott, Kaitlin (Andrew) Cuzzi, Paige King (Matt McMillan), Kayla Baruffa and Madeline King; her great-grandchildren: Robert, Paul, Matthew, Tia, Brian, Archie, Nathan, Joseph and one on the way and her great, great-grandchild, Lay’Lonie.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond King; her son, Robert King; three grandchildren and all of her siblings, eight sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. with a funeral service to immediately follow at 7:00p at the Fleming and Billman Funeral Home, 323 South Broadway in Geneva, Ohio. A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, burial to immediately follow.
