She was born February 5, 1912 to Ernest S. and Selma (Nelson) Johnson in Ashtabula, Ohio. She married Mose C. “Bud” Amidon on June 12, 1940.

Naudean graduated from Kent State University in 1931. She taught 31 years before her retirement as a second grade teacher from Chestnut Street School in Ashtabula. She also taught 6 years in Newton Falls, Ohio and 3 years in Farnham.

She was a member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association, the Sorosis Club of Ada and the Ada Senior Citizens.

On April 1, 1928, (93 years ago) Naudean joined First Presbyterian Church in Ashtabula where she was the oldest active member until her passing.

She is survived by two daughters: Carole Lazor of Columbus, Ohio and Jean (Sam) Beckley of Lexington, Kentucky, five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Naudean was always surprised by the “big” beautiful birthday cards created by her niece, Nancy Blake of Ashtabula.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years and her five sisters: Edith Graham, Irene Krebs, Ruth Johnson, Dorothy Fassett and Hazel Peterson.

Naudean was very grateful for each and every one of her special caregivers who helped her to stay in her home, which meant a lot to her. She was especially thankful for Tina Moots who had been with her for over 20 years, her very special nurse Joyce Barga and the care given by Dr. Abby.

A private graveside service was held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Edgewood Cemetery in Ashtabula, Ohio.

The family appreciates the concern and care given by Scott Allison from Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral Home in Ada, Ohio.
