Robert Henry Kennedy passed away very peacefully on April 21, 2021, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center following a very brief illness.
He was born on March 19, 1929 in California, PA to Daniel and Elizabeth (Fowler) Kennedy. After graduating from East Pike Run Township High School, he worked in the coal mines for several years. He was drafted by the Army and very proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was sent to Guided Missel training in El Paso, TX and was stationed at White Sands Proving Ground in New Mexico.
Following his honorable discharge from the Army he worked in Florida for several years before returning to Ohio. Bob worked for 33 years for the Cleveland Electric Illuminating company and retired in June, 1990.
Bob married Carrie I. Demorest on August 17, 1981, his loving and devoted wife of almost 40 years. He was a member of the Utility Workers Union of America; the California, PA. Rod and Gun Club, the Ashtabula Elks Lodge #208; the Elk’s Golf League and the Skinners Golf league and he enjoyed bowling in the Elks League for many years. Carrie and Bob loved their winters stays in Myrtle Beach, something they have done for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie; his two loving daughters, Harriet Kennedy and Margaret Kennedy both of Columbus, Oh.; his two very special granddaughters who his just adored: Eva Kennedy of Houston, TX and Pearl Schafer of Columbus; a sister Ethel Kennedy of California, PA; and a brother John (Mary) Kennedy of Spring Hill, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Faye Edwards and Leona (Jim) Glenn; and two brothers: Daniel (Helen) and Harry.
At his request no public services will be held.
