Ronald Fortune Obituary

Ronald Lee Fortune was called Home on Tuesday. January 28, 2020. Beloved husband to Linda (Fozo), brother to David (Julie) and Mike (Mary), father of Frank and Kenneth (Krista), and grandfather of Dylan and Tyler. Ronald was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Robert and Helen (Hewitt), and brothers, Bobby (Sharon) and Bill (Diana). Ronald was born on June 18, 1944 in Ashtabula, Ohio. He served in the Marine Corps Reserves and also owned/ managed the Frank Fortune Grocery company for many years.

 

Ronald enjoyed a variety of interests throughout his life. An avid fisherman, he loved being on the water with his family, was an active member of the Ashtabula 208 Elks Club. He was part of the Elks ABC bowling and golf teams for many years.  He was a member of the Masons as well.  He enjoyed caring for his many pets over the years. He enjoyed going to Saybrook Methodist Church for their monthly Thursday dinners, where he socialized with friends.

Our very special thanks to the Geauga Assisted Living team for their compassionate care and to Grace Hospice in his last days. Family will receive friends on Friday (Jan.31st) from to 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Geneva Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory 323 South Broadway, Geneva with a funeral service on Saturday (Feb. 1st) at 11:00 am at the Geneva Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Stoll officiating.. His final resting place will be at Saybrook Township Cemetery. 

Should you wish, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saybrook United Methodist Church and Saybrook Fire Department.
