Thomas Edward Campbell

Thomas Edward Campbell, 87, passed away on October 13, 2021 in Jefferson, Ohio. He was born in Kesler’s Cross Lanes, West Virginia on November 7, 1932, the son of Columbus Arthur and Verna Agnes (Bailes) Campbell.
He served in the U.S. Army from March 18, 1953, to January 8, 1955 and was stationed in Korea during the war.  After being discharged from the service he moved to Jefferson, Ohio. He was employed by Douglass Lumber Company and then started his career in building many homes which he dearly loved to do.  After retirement he continued to remodel and repair homes until his health made him give it up.  Over the years he built many pieces of furniture. Thomas was a member of the Ashtabula County Builder’s Association. He enjoyed spending time with his grand and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Elizabeth (Ebersole) (Painter) Campbell whom he married on October 13, 1990; a son, Carl (Melanie) Campbell of Madison, a daughter, Linda Bryan of Jefferson, grandchildren: Cynthia (Justin) Salmon, Chris Campbell, Casie Campbell, Jaime Campbell and Jesse Bryan; eight great-grandchildren; step-sons: William (Darla) Painter and Glenn (Donna) Painter both of Jefferson, step-grandchildren: Kimberly (George) Mansfield, Kyle Painter, Courtney Smith and Aaron Painter; 3 step great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brothers: John Andy, Clyde Dave, Harry, Albert, Charles, Austin; his sisters: Chessie Beavers, Virginia Foster and Elizabeth Jackson.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakdale Cemetery, 328 N. Market Street, Jefferson, Ohio.
