William E. “Bill” Wendell, age 91, longtime resident of Parma Hts., died Saturday evening at The Lantern of Saybrook where he has resided the past two years.
He was born March 29, 1929 in Canton, the son of the late Harvey & Ruth (Schoner) Wendell. Bill was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He served 40 years as an insurance investigator with Equifax before retiring. He and his wife Mona were members of the Divinity Lutheran Church in Parma Hts.
Survivors include his wife, Mona, whom he married on August 14, 1954; a son, William M. “Bill” (Alta) Wendell of Rock Creek; two grandchildren, Alicia A. (Anthony) Hurps of Hebron & Shawn M. Wendell of Parma Hts.; a step-granddaughter, Kathryn Daley of Kinsman and three great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Riddick & Gracyn Hurps.
Graveside services will be announced and held at Wood Cemetery in Lake Twp. in Stark County with a pastor from Divinity Lutheran Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, OH 44004.
