Robert J. Addicott

August 22, 1920 ~ November 15, 2015 (age 95) 95 Years Old


Robert  J. Addicott, age 95, of  S. Chestnut St., Jefferson, died Sunday at the Austinburg  Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  He was born on August 22, 1920 in Orwell, the son of George & Beatrice (Cummins) Addicott.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He has lived in Ashtabula County his entire life.  A member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson.  He was a proud member of the Rotary Club and received the Paul Harris award.  He was active in Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club and was Grand Marshall in 1994.    He was a used car dealer for many years, retiring at the age of 91.  His famous saying was “Everyone drives a used car.”  Fords were his #1 vehicle.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathy M. (Larry) Rose of Powhatan Point, OH; sister, Helen Rhodes of Lynwood, WA. He is preceded by his parents; wife, Eleanor Mae (Hoffstetter) Addicott in 1994, and a daughter Brenda Addicott in 1966.
